(King David to his son, Solomon, when he was anointed king) “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the Lord you God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn; that the Lord  may fulfill His Word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your son takes heed to their way, to walk before me in truth, with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said, ‘you shall not lack a man on the throne of Isreal.'” (1 Kings 2:2-4)

Thought: David charged Solomon to be strong and prove He was a man. How would he prove it? By walking with God according to God’s Word with a pure heart. That’s the best way to prove I am a man because it is the best thing I can do for myself, my wife, my family, and everyone around me. If I make this choice to take God at His word, and walk with Him faithfully, sincerely, and will all that I have; God will keep HIs promises to me regarding the type of fruit my life will produce.
